What to Expect
Your First Sunday
Walking into a new church can feel like a big step. Here is what a Sunday morning with us looks like, so there are no surprises.
A Warm Welcome
You’ll be greeted at the door by folks who are genuinely glad you came. No one will single you out or ask you to stand. Come as you are and make yourself at home.
Hymns & Special Music
We sing the great hymns of the faith together, and most Sundays include special music from our church family. If you know the words, sing along. If not, you’ll pick them up quickly.
Preaching from the Word
Every message is preached plainly from the King James Bible, so you can open your own Bible, follow along, and take it home with you.
Care for Your Kids
A nursery is available for the little ones, and children head to Kid’s Sunday School at 10:45 for a Bible lesson and activities of their own while you hear the message.

Good to Know
What should I wear?
Whatever you’re comfortable in. You’ll see everything from Sunday best to jeans, and no one will think twice about it. We’re far more interested in you than in what you’re wearing.
How long is the service?
The 10:30 service usually lets out around noon, so plan on about an hour and a half. If you come early for Adult Bible Study at 9:30, there’s a short break between the two, and you’ll still be on your way by noon.
What about my children?
Children are always welcome in the service. A nursery is available for babies and toddlers, and school-age kids are dismissed to Kid’s Sunday School at 10:45 for a Bible lesson and activities. You’re also welcome to keep them with you the whole time.
Where do I park?
There’s plenty of free parking right at the building. If you need a hand getting in from the car, call ahead and we’ll be ready to meet you.
Which Bible do you use?
We preach and teach from the King James Bible. Bring yours if you have one, and if you don’t, just ask. We’ll make sure you have one to follow along with. Following along on your phone is perfectly fine too.
Will I be put on the spot?
No. We won’t ask you to stand up, speak, or give. You’re our guest. If you’d like us to follow up with you, fill out a connection card. Otherwise, simply enjoy the morning.
Do you meet during the week?
Yes. We gather for Prayer Meeting at 6:30 PM and a Tuesday Small Group at 7:30 PM. The small group’s location varies, so give us a call and we’ll point you to it. Beyond that, the ladies get together periodically for ladies’ ministry events and quarterly for a ladies’ prayer group, and the men meet for Men’s Prayer Breakfast. Ask us for the next dates.
How do I become a member?
Membership at Hametown is open to any born-again Christian who has been baptized as a believer. Some congregations require you to be baptized in their own church first; that isn’t what we believe or practice. When you sense the Lord calling you to our church, speak with one of our pastors. We’ll gladly arrange an official extension of the right hand of fellowship, welcoming you into our local New Testament church. The steps are just below.

Trust Christ
Membership begins with salvation. If you have never trusted Jesus Christ alone as your Saviour, that is the first and most important step of all, and we would love to show you what the Bible says about it.

Follow in Baptism
Baptism is a believer’s public testimony of faith in Christ, pictured by immersion. Every year our church family gathers at Lake Anna in Barberton to celebrate as new believers are baptized.

Get to Know Us
Worship with us on Sundays, sit in on Adult Bible Study or a small group, and take time to learn what we believe and how we do church. We want you to be sure, so ask us anything.
